President’s Message June 2025

Greetings to all members of the National Association of County Administrators (NACA). I hope you are entering the summer season with energy and vigor. As a popular saying goes, “We are outside,” attending the many festivals and other events in our nation’s counties that promote civic engagement and community belonging. NACA is here to assist in any way we can regarding creating additional professional development resources

As you know, NACA provides us with a valuable network of professionals who have committed to public service, with whom we can share insights on county-specific management challenges and opportunities.

NACA encourages professional excellence to improve the management of county government. Our members are county administrators & managers from across the country, and many are members of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and their counties belong to the National Association of Counties (NACo).

County government provides so many critical and essential services, so let’s all promote our work to the fullest extent possible!

2025 NACo Annual Conference in July

Next month I will be looking forward to congratulating all of the winners of the 2025 NACo Achievement Awards who will be recognized at the 2025 NACo Annual Conference, July 11-14 in Philadelphia City and County, Pa. We will have many NACA events during the conference: two in-person Idea Exchanges on July 12 and 13, NACA’s Annual Membership Meeting on July 12 and NACA’s Reception, hosted by Engie, on the evening of July 12. Please check the conference schedule to confirm dates, times, and location.

June Celebrations

I wish everyone a wonderful Juneteenth holiday, a time to reflect and celebrate our continued quest for racial inclusion, liberty, and true freedom. Also, as you all know, June is Pride Month, and communities around America celebrate and recognize the great courage and contributions of members of the LGBTQ+ community. We all play essential roles in promoting acceptance and equity for the LGBTQ+ community.
