Call for Fall & Winter 2025 Journal Articles

The National Association of County Administrators (NACA) invites submissions for the Fall and Winter issues of the Journal of County Administration.

We seek original articles that contribute to the advancement of county government management, share best practices, highlight innovative programs, or provide insights into leadership and administration at the county level.

How to Submit

  1. Email NACA to schedule your article. In the email, include whether you would like to publish in Fall or Winter and your topic.

  2. Review the Submission Guidelines (below) and prepare your article in accordance with the Guidelines.

  3. Email your Word document and image files to NACA by the publication deadline to admin@countyadministrators.org.

    1. Fall Journal Deadline: August 7, 2025

    2. Winter Journal Deadline: December 4, 2025

Submission Guidelines:

  • Length: 650–2,500 words (excluding references).  

  • Content: Articles should be relevant to county administration, including but not limited to management strategies, case studies, leadership development, policy analysis, or community engagement.

  • Format: Submit articles as a Microsoft Word document (.doc).

  • Images: Include at least one high-quality image to accompany your article. Images must be submitted as separate files in .png or .jpg format.

  • Style: Use clear, professional English.

  • Originality: Submissions must be original work. Authors are responsible for securing permission for any copyrighted material, including images. Cite sources as appropriate.

  • Use of AI: Authors may use AI tools for routine tasks such as grammar correction, language editing, without mandatory disclosure. NACA discourages the use of AI in any substantive way.

  • Review: All submissions will undergo editorial review and may be subject to peer review by experienced county administrators and subject matter experts.
